Hey Blaine, is this what they're calling a "cross trainer" sorta a cross between a mt bike and a cruiser? I'm looking to replace my old mt bike. The back won't let met do stupid stuff anymore. So I'm thinking about one of these. That way I can at least do some fire roads.

They said I can take it about anywhere, but keep both wheels on the ground, and it's not good in soft/wet stuff......That's fine by me... Who do you think I am? Some Jarhead Cop? icon_beer2_gif icon_beer2_gif

As soon as the weather squares away a tad, I'm ready to ride the 6 miles to work......Don't laugh, Guy, I was starting from the bottom. Sure wish they had bikes like this 20 years ago.....

One recomendaion I may offer is for you to get a set or pair of bar ends. It gives you the ability to streach your back and have different hand positions which is nice over long rides, gives the wrists a break. Plus they can save your fingers, knucles when/if you ride into something!

Just a thought.

Tubby, they are "handles" that attach to the end of the handlebar. They project forward and allow you to reach further forward. Some project straight out, other project forward then turn inward.

Years ago Scott made a moutain bike handlebar that extended forward and then turned inward. I still have one on my 80's era MTB. LIke Seabass said, they let you change position which is a great aid to comfort when riding long distance.

I don't have a picture but if you do a google search or go into the bike shop that will give you an idea of what I'm talking about. They aren't expenive (unless you buy the titaniam ones ) and are worth it imo. They just bolt on to the sides of your handle bar, I'm sure you've seen them around. You can run you hands parallel with the road or just further out from you stock handle bar. Plus they look cool. icon_thumright.gif
